- Assessments and Recommendations
Treatment begins where you are. We start where you are most in pain.
All will be well and is well, although you are uncomfortable now.
Our job is to look at what is not working in your life, or is currently uncomfortable. Then we work to change what we can through four steps:
- Acceptance [this is an Action step]
Ultimately, I believe that we all have choices whether we are aware of them or not, whether we are empowered or not. Part of the work that I do with each client is to look at the current situation(s) and assess where individual choice lies. A simple equation for it is:
Event + Choice = Outcome
Sometimes we are in control of the events and sometimes not. We look at each event, the choices available, the choices made, and whether or not the outcome is a manageable or acceptable one. If it is manageable, we move on to the less manageable outcomes and begin to look at triggers, automatic thoughts and automatic responses. Once we understand these, we begin to explore shifts that can be made and practice new choices.
It is Choice that is within our power. We cannot control other people, places or things but we can make choices even when they are uncomfortable for us.
I believe that history is important but we do not necessarily need to focus on history in order to create movement toward health and serenity. We can work on historic issues while addressing current symptoms. I strongly believe that Life gives us many opportunities to work through issues and make different or better choices.
I believe in a multi-team approach and encourage clients to work with medical doctors as appropriate. I also encourage clients to use alternative treatments such as: acupuncture, cranial sacral work, energy work, massage, martial arts, aromatherapy, and homeopathy. I will work with your physician and healers in order to build, grow and maintain a network of care for you.
