foundChange

Trainings and retreats for clergy, medical personnel, mental health practitioners, teachers and leaders.

What is foundChange?

foundChange is an ongoing series of trainings and retreats for clergy, medical personnel, mental health practitioners, teachers and leaders.

Through foundChange we create space to explore healing that is in process for you and those in your care. We revisit our growth edges to find the innate healing that is already present within us.

We provide a safe place to ground ourselves in the wisdom of our bodies, minds and intellects to face the challenges of our times.

We do this through:
  • Webinars
  • Seminars
  • Retreats: in-person and virtually

We provide a safe place to ground ourselves in the wisdom of our bodies, minds and intellects to face the challenges of our times.

Upcoming Trainings and Retreats

Parallel Charting: the internal experience of the Clinician at work [An Online Event]

On Sunday June 1st from 4:00 to 5:00

Narrative Medicine and Narrative Therapy underscore the lived experience of the clinician as we listen to our patient’s story. Our intellect follows the decision tree of diagnosis and charts symptoms while we push aside our emotional self experiences.

This session explores and aspect of Narrative Medicine called Parallel Charting. We use literature and art as entry points into discernment and creativity. We remove the barriers of compartmentalization through giving voice to what it is like to be with that patient: what comes up, memories, feelings and intuitve connections.

At the end of the writing webinar, you will have a grasp on your internal process, understand what tasks you are engaging with and have a start on the structure of your personal story.

Falling Awake: An in person retreat

Saturday June 21st from 10:00 to 2:00

Falling Awake is a phrase used in Mindfulness Practices. When we pause and become accustomed to listening to our inner world, we fall awake; we have realizations and gain clarity. Give yourself this gift: a half day to rest, assess and explore. Are you worried about the next leg of the journey? Bring those hopes and worries. We have space for them. This half day retreat is a gathering centered around reflection and intention-setting. We’ll do this through conversation, journaling prompts, Yin Yoga, and meditation. Facilitated by Dr. Melissa Perrin, this retreat offers a pause to reflect, assess and set intentions as we continue into the “next normal.” Attendees will collect insight into their experiences, investigate roles and outcomes and perhaps, have a story to tell.

Writing Circle Up: Riding the Dragon [An Online Event]

Sunday June 22nd from 4:00 to 5:00

This Writing Circle Up centers around personal and professional challenges that have left an impact and clarifying how to move forward. Our task is to find meaning and resilience so that we can continue the work. We will read excerpts from Robert Wick’s work “Riding the Dragon: 10 lessons for inner strength in challenging times” and follow our writing prompts. We’ll share what we’re learning.

We’ll discuss the fact that meaning manages burn out and overwhelm. You”ll leave with story structures that facilitate meaning.
